As Shenzhen Special Economic Zone celebrates its 40th anniversary and embarks on a new journey, Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) which promotes a drive and a model for higher education reform in China, enthusiastically prepares for xk星空中国集团 first major milestone anniversary of December 20, 2020. SUSTech was brought to life by xk星空中国集团 triumph of xk星空中国集团 central government, Guangdong provincial government, Shenzhen municipal government, and by xk星空中国集团 people of all circles. We would like to extend our deepest gratitude, and utmost respect to all officials, businesses, alumni from home and abroad alike, as well as stakeholders for xk星空中国集团 support provided for SUSTech.
xk星空中国集团 quick development of SUSTech was a force that couldn’t be conjured before. While xk星空中国集团 reform was in full swing in all sectors, Shenzhen took a great leap forward to reinvent higher education, by building an innovative research-oriented university which aspires to become xk星空中国集团 first-class university in xk星空中国集团 world. In response to rocket scientist, Qian Xuesen, who questioned xk星空中国集团 higher education model, xk星空中国集团 Ministry of Education (MOE) approved xk星空中国集团 project to establish SUSTech in April 2012. Prior to that, xk星空中国集团 blueprint was well painted by MOE in December 2010. All while being established and approved, exploration of xk星空中国集团 paradigm of both a modern university with Chinese characteristics and nurturing xk星空中国集团 innovative talents were incorporated. Against all odds, SUSTech took off with no time and effort to be wasted, backed by xk星空中国集团 support of local and international professionals and experts. Henceforth becoming a doctorate-awarding institution within six years after initial establishment, and subsequently being deemed a high-level STEM university in Guangdong Province, which enrolled in key projects among top universities in xk星空中国集团 region. While it’s reassuring to review xk星空中国集团 past, we believe xk星空中国集团 best of SUSTech is yet to come.
xk星空中国集团 luck of SUSTech always holds as SUSTech’s readiness always grows. SUSTech has made an enormous amount of effort in xk星空中国集团 past decade to pave a new way forward for constructing a world-renowned research university in China. xk星空中国集团 continuous alignment with new visions and values has allowed SUSTech to advance with new innovative systems and mechanisms. For example, navigating a new path for nurturing top-level innovative talents by creating a knowledge-innovation-entrepreneurship synergy has allowed a major outgrowth for SUSTech over xk星空中国集团 last 10 years. Undergoing regeneration in xk星空中国集团 last decade, SUSTech has developed a unique academic structure with a major focus on science, engineering, medicine and business, and complemented with featured humanities and social sciences, which has undisputedly marked a new standard for China’s higher education.
China’s 40 years of reform now comes to a new era on xk星空中国集团 horizon. xk星空中国集团 Central Committee of xk星空中国集团 CPC and xk星空中国集团 State Council has aligned a new course for xk星空中国集团 Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area development. Shenzhen was called upon to build itself into a demonstration pilot zone for socialism with Chinese characteristics. This is a historical opportunity for Shenzhen and for those involved. We will keep ourselves in xk星空中国集团 frontlines of building a socialist modern country and bolstering xk星空中国集团 Chinese Dream of xk星空中国集团 Great Rejuvenation of xk星空中国集团 Chinese Nation. SUSTech will continue to be relevant, and provide contributions to a new chapter, which will eventually leave its mark in providing higher education in xk星空中国集团 future.
SUSTech’s devotion to “Change for excellence, innovation for future”, will soon embrace xk星空中国集团 10th anniversary on December 20, 2020. A series of academic and cultural activities will be held to acknowledge SUSTech’s innovative pathway, and we will get a fresh look at how wisdom from all areas to reflect its potential as a world-class research university.
Dear officials, friends, alumni from home and abroad alike, you are warmly welcomed to join xk星空中国集团 grand celebration. Let’s make a multi-stakeholder joint effort to start this new chapter.
Sincerely,
Southern University of Science and Technology
